Renovation Update: Master Bathroom

This is going to be a very picture heavy post. It’s definitely worth it though, we got a lot done!

Recently, I heard Miranda Lambert’s song “The House That Built Me” on the radio.

While I love her music, one verse really caught my attention:

“Mama cut out pictures of houses for years.
From ‘Better Homes and Garden’ magazines.
Plans were drawn, and concrete poured,
And nail by nail and board by board
Daddy gave life to mama’s dream.”

That’s what we’re doing right now. He’s building our dream one day, one board at a time.

And I’m finally starting to see through the mess to that dream in our Master Bathroom! Now that we made the space in our Master Bedroom, we’re ready to move onto building our dream Master Suite.

Master Bathroom Without Walls

One week, we finally had a floor filling in the gap where the stairs used to be.

The next? Walls were going up!

The Bathtub

After that? Windows! And then lights, plumbing and more. Finally, it’s starting to look like a bathroom, and then all of the decisions I’d been avoiding hit me all at once.

See that stained glass window? Take a look at how we saved $100s on it!

Shower

What did I want for a vanity? Or lights? Tile? Shower heads? Sinks? Have I mentioned how much I suck at making decisions? Yeah. I was in decision hell.

But I pushed through, we ordered what we needed and it’s finally coming together. We have electrical, plumbing and something that is starting to look a lot like a bathroom.

The toilet area is my favorite part right now. That might be because it’s the most finished, but can you blame me? It’s beautiful! If you’d like to know how we got that look I’ll be writing a follow up post for that sometime soon. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it!

Vanity

We did so much in a month, it’s almost gotten to the point where my fiancee gets to hand over the reigns to me! Then I get to make even more decisions: Paint, mirror, decor, etc.

I guess I should get a start on that now before it’s crunch time.

For now though, I have an almost usable master bathroom!
